"It's not about perfection, it's about improvement."
Hello, my name is Meike and I'm a self-taught artist from Berlin, Germany.
My passion for drawing started when my parents bought me a white board and a set of wax crayons at the age of two.
I'm rarely seen without a pencil in my hand ever since.
In the late 1990's I discovered the world of manga, which was a huge influence in the development of my style. 2007 I finally
got involved in digital art by buying my first tablet and trying to figure out how Photoshop works. Nowadays I only use digital
media like Photoshop and Illustrator to create my art. Sketches however are always done in pencil. I'm always trying out new techniques
aiming to improve my art in all areas. Joining competitions and contests fuel my creativity and force me to push my artistic abilities
further.
Books, movies, tv shows, comics and admired artists like Adam Hughes, Dan LuVisi, Warren Louw, Jo Chen and other artists are my constant sources of inspiration.
Being a huge fan of the fantasy and horror genre, my artworks often have some fantasy or horror influences.
